About OBRA Ko ‘To & Eleyn

Welcome to the world of OBRA KO 'TO – (it means "My Creations" in Tagalog).

I'm Elaine “Eleyn” Medina, a Filipino artist who found my home in California in August 2019. My experiences since arriving in South Lake Tahoe, filled with both challenges and joys, have profoundly shaped the art I create. My journey into this world began with the foundational practice of charcoal portraiture, where I learned to capture the interplay of light and shadow, bringing a subject to life.

More recently, since November of last year, I've enthusiastically embraced the vibrant medium of oil paint, drawn by the majestic landscapes that surround me here. The towering Sierra Nevada mountains and the tranquil waters of Lake Tahoe provide a constant source of inspiration for my canvases. It was a simple invitation to explore creativity that first encouraged me to pick up a brush, and I haven't looked back since.

Through OBRA KO 'TO, I share my artistic explorations in both charcoal and oil. Whether it's the detailed rendering of a portrait or the expressive brushstrokes of a landscape, I aim to connect with those who appreciate art that reflects both observation and emotion. I warmly welcome fellow art lovers and artists interested in connecting and sharing in this creative journey.

Thank you for visiting. Please feel free to explore my galleries of portraits and landscapes. I hope you find something that resonates with you, and I look forward to the possibility of connecting.
